Cabo San Lucas

Well we made it home in once piece … I will start by saying that it was absolutely wonderful.  BEST VACATION EVER!  I will recap the highlights … I am so excited because I know we will be returning to Cabo as soon as we can.  We have found a vacation spot we will return to again and again as often as we can!

6:00 am and we are ready to go.  This was our first time flying on Spirit airlines, was not the best flight I have ever been on but it got us there and on time.

Take Off
Waiting to check in to our room … full of excitement and anticipation … Cabo San Lucas we have arrived!

Arrived
A little bite to eat … nothing healthy I assure you 🙂

After checking in it is time for a bit of pool time.  The main pool at this resort rocked!  Pool bar and a great view, only steps away from the crashing waves.  I do me CRASHING!  Cabo is NOT the place for ocean swimming, the current is brutal.  I actually got swept in and pulled under because I dared dip my toes in the surf.  Only needed to try that once to know never to do it again!

Our first night was wonderful and the next morning it was breakfast and mimosas before we headed out on the day’s adventure (well I guess I had a mimosa and Zach had a beer … don’t judge, we are on vacation!).

One more shot before we loaded up on the bus that would take us horseback riding along the beach.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is always something I have wanted to do and we have considered it many times as an excursion however just never have … until today!  Saddle up!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
What a beautiful view!  No matter where we went in Cabo the views were always incredible!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
A moment on our feet to stretch our legs and get ready for the ride back.  I finally got to gallop a horse on the beach … one thing gets marked off the bucket list!

The next day we decided to take a water taxi out to Lover’s Beach … It was an interesting ride to say the least.  Beautiful but VERY intense as the current is SO strong!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Even the current could not take away from the view.

Once at Lover’s Beach it was time to relax and enjoy the quietness … but definitely not time to swim!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Check out that wave!  There were actually people thinking they were going to stick a toe in … but none of them actually dared do it, thank God!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
It was just such a lovely spot to spend some time with my husband, I wish I could do this more often.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And I met one of the locals too … Eeeekkkk OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This was the perfect spot to snap a picture!  I love that the wave hit behind us as just the right moment!

One last photo at Lover’s Beach as we wait for the water taxi to come and bring us back to the mainland.  It certainly was worth the few dollars and wave filled ride to spend a couple of hours virtually alone on a deserted Island.  There was not even a bathroom … glad we did not stay longer 🙂
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After Lover’s Beach we decided to go check out the city of Cabo … well that’s where we really fell in love with the place! We grabbed a bite to eat at this really neat pizza pub located at Cabo Villas.  There was super yummy food, great beer, and an awesome view … what more could you ask for … well keep going cause this day only gets better!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After lunch we decided to go shopping, who doesn’t love shopping while on vacation, I certainly do almost to a fault 🙂 Well, I had been waiting for a long time for something very special and Zach was in the mood to make me a very happy wife!  I finally got my Rolex, I really am blessed with a wonderful husband … I guess I will keep him a bit longer 🙂
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

One more stop for a snack and a beer … I know, I know, we eat and indulge a bit much on vacation but what would life be without a bit of overkill? OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Back to the resort and a dip in the pool, we had such a wonderful day and this was definitely the way to top it off!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The next day we hung around the resort and relaxed, but come mid-day we were back out in the city, we really couldn’t get enough!  We just kept going … OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And going … OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd going … OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

On our second to last day we enjoyed the resort all morning and then headed out in the late afternoon for an early dinner…
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd some more “taking in the town”! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then it was time to board the boat for our sunset cruise.  We always take these when available on a vacation.  There is usually good food, music, views, and of course a few drinks.  Always a good time!    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe set sail …

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
It truly was a magnificent ride and a wonderful way to spend the evening.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We even did a little goofing around … I mean “dancing”.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We returned to the resort and spent a little while enjoying the night air on the main deck.  It was the perfect end to yet another perfect day!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

On our last day … back into town we went.  We stopped at many places along our walk through the city that day just to cram in as much as we could … literally! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We took in some sights and enjoyed the view.  Both of us were still in awe at what a beautiful place we had found ourselves in!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We stopped for some more … OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And then finally found a great local eatery for lunch … open air and some great Mexican food!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Their tacos were amazing!  I do love to sample as much as I can local food while away … It is just one of the benefits of being on vacation!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Finally we ended the night, after a long day of walking the city, at the marina and had dinner and wine over the water surrounded by boats and We stopped for some more … OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We were disappointed to see our trip come to an end but felt so very blessed that we had the opportunity to spend the time together in such an amazing place.  We will return and have no doubt that our next trip will be even better!
